Lake Wylie Athletic Association Parents,
Registration is now open for the 2024 Flag Football Season. Please read this email in its entirety because there is a lot of information about the expectations for this season and will answer a lot of your questions.
WE HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE A MAJOR CHANGE IN WHEN PRACTICES AND GAMES ARE HELD THIS YEAR. WE ARE MOVING UP THE SEASON THIS YEAR TO HELP AVOID THE SUMMER HEAT AND FAMILY VACATIONS.
We are in need of head coaches for every age group, and can't start the season without them.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. We will have 5 different age groups this season and are expecting a big turnout this season. DO NOT wait until the last second to sign up.
Final day for registration is Sunday, April 28th (however, we could end it sooner if we fill up).
Practices and games will be held at Field Day Park. Here is the proposed schedule for now:
Evaluations -will be held Friday, May 3rd - Sunday, May 5th weekend (more exact details to follow in the coming week)
Friday. May 10th - PRACTICE (all teams)
Friday, May 17th - PRACTICE (all teams)
Friday, May 24th - PRACTICE (all teams)
Tuesday, May 28th -GAMES
Friday, May 31st - GAMES
Tuesday, June 4th - GAMES
Friday, June 7th - GAMES
Tuesday, June 11th - GAMES
Friday, June 14th - GAMES
Tuesday - June 18th - GAMES
** Actual game time and practice times will not be finalized UNTIL teams are formed after evaluations are completed.
I would suggest not signing up for this season if you can't commit to playing on Tuesday and Friday nights in May and/or the first couple weeks of June. We understand that kids are also playing baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and travel sports during the week and on weekends. Most non-flag football teams don't play or practice on Friday nights so we thought it was a good opportunity to have the league completed by mid June to avoid the brutal summer heat and family vacations.
** Game dates are subject to change in case of makeup dates due to weather, field availability or other conflicts.
HOW TO REGISTER

You can log in using your existing username and password (if you’ve previously created one) OR create a new profile; and then proceed to register your child. Find available program and complete the registration process. Once you Select the 2024 LWAA Flag Football program, you will need to either hit "Next Player" or "Skip" to go to the next screen,
2024 FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE INFORMATION
** AGE DIVISIONS WILL BE BASED ON YOUR AGE AS OF 9/1/2023.
6U Coed, Ages 5-6, $85 (turns 5 by 9/1/2024, and can't turn 7 before 8/31/2024) - no refs, coach is the quarterback
8U Coed, Ages 7-8, $85 (turns 7 by 9/1/2024, and can't turn 9 before 8/31/2024)
10U Coed, Ages 9-10, $85 (turns 9 by 9/1/2024, and can't turn 11 before 8/31/2024)
12U Coed, Ages 11-12, $85 (turns 11 by 9/1/2024, and can't turn 13 before 8/31/2024)
14U Coed, Ages 13-14, $85 (turns 13 by 9/1/2024, and can't turn 15 before 8/31/2024)
*** For safety purposes, LWAA reserves the right to move a player up or down in an age group if we feel like it is in the best interest of the child. Please feel free to make comments in the registration process if you feel like your child should move up in an age division or if they need to move down in an age division. The Flag Football Player Agent and Committee can help make a determination of which age group your child needs to be playing in based on our evaluation.
Since LWAA is a volunteer organization, we are really looking for Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to help in all age groups. Please register online if you are interested in helping out.
